Overview: Transformers are the heart of your electrical distribution system. The lifeblood of that transformer is the insulating oil. Over time, transformer oil absorbs moisture, contains dissolved gases, and accumulates particulate matter, drastically reducing its dielectric strength.
Contaminated oil leads to partial discharge and catastrophic failure. Our mobile oil purification units restore your insulating oil to ASTM standards.
Technical Power Company provides on-site and off-site Transformer Oil Purification to restore your oil to like-new condition, saving you the immense cost of oil replacement and transformer rewinding.
Our Process (Degasification & Dehydration):
We utilize high-vacuum purification plants that process oil through a series of steps:
1. Heating: Oil is heated to an optimal temperature to reduce viscosity.
2. Vacuum Dehydration: Under a high vacuum, we remove free and dissolved water (H2O).
3. Degasification: We extract dissolved gases (O2, N2, and fault gases) that can lead to oxidation and arcing.
4. Filtration: Fine particulate filters remove sludge, carbon, and contaminants down to 1 micron.
Key Results:
• Restored Dielectric Strength: Increases the oil’s ability to insulate (typically up to 70kV+).
• Acidity Reduction: Lowers the acid number, preventing damage to paper insulation.
• Extended Transformer Life: Dry, clean oil protects internal windings and core.
