Load Bank Testing
Load Bank Testing
Overview:
At Technical Power Company, we don't assume your backup power systems work—we prove it. Using state-of-the-art resistive/reactive load banks, we simulate the electrical load that your generator would experience during an actual power outage or peak operational demand.

A generator starting isn't enough; it needs to sustain load. Our mobile load banks simulate the actual electrical load your generator will face during a blackout. We don't just "flip the switch"—we provide granular data logging to validate performance under 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% load steps.

Why Load Bank Testing is Critical:
• Prevent Wet Stacking: In diesel generators, running under light load causes unburned fuel to accumulate in the exhaust system. Load bank testing burns off this carbon buildup.
• Verify Performance: Confirms that the cooling system, fuel system, and alternator can handle full rated capacity.
• Reliability Assurance: Identifies potential failures before they cause costly downtime or data loss.
• Voltage & Frequency Stability: Verifies that the Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) and governor respond correctly to load changes.
• Commissioning: Required by most EPC contracts before building acceptance

Our Process:
1. Connection: We safely connect our portable load banks to your generator or power source.
2. Gradual Loading: We apply a stepped load, monitoring voltage, frequency, and stability.
3. Data Logging: We provide a comprehensive report detailing the performance metrics and verifying that the unit meets specifications.
